If you serve at a church, volunteer or staff, I want you to hear something. Thank you. Thank you for extra rehearsals, creating rich Gospel centered music, and writing sermons. Thank you for standing in the cold to give guests a warm welcome. Thank you for spending time with our little ones and teaching them about our loving Savior. Thank you for working behind the scenes to make sure services are recorded, lighting and sound work properly, and the Gospel heard by many others. Thank you for giving up countless hours during this season to reach those who don’t know Jesus.
During this time of year, I echo the words of the apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi: “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.” (Philippians 1:3) It warms my heart to look around and see all that God is doing through you. My prayer is that the very same Gospel that you share by your words and actions will be an encouragement to you today.
God loves you so much that he sent his only Son to redeem and restore you. This was not of your own works but a totally free and undeserved gift. In the craziness of the getting ready for Christmas services, take a moment and to be reminded of who you are in Christ. Rest in knowing that, in your weakness, His strength shines through.
Merry Christmas and thank you for all that you do.
